Triskele

So this is my second tattoo. I got it done by my friend Jamie Mclone who is an apprentice at Almighty Tattoo in Grand Blanc, MI. She has done both of my tattoos so far!

I got a Triskele because it goes along with my heritage. I am Irish. A spiral Triskele is an Irish symbol. It has many meanings and I love all of the symbolism.

Now, my Triskele is modified to go along with my nerdiness. I was watching Merlin (back when I first got into it, I still love it too<3 ) and I noticed the Druids had this tattooed on them. Their version was a little bit different so I modified a traditional Triskele to match. I also got it in the same place as the druid boy! /nerd

The colour came from traditional Celtic Woading (or tattooing). It was the closest I could get I think. This photo is still a little bit off from the actual colour it is. The colour is a bit more muted/darker. I tried to mess with it but it wouldn't look like the real thing.
